Heirloom Tomato Toast
Heirloom Tomatoes are summer special, and you must enjoy if you find in your local markets. These are irregular in shapes, with very interesting colors and taste very sweet with crunchy bite. The best way to enjoy heirloom tomatoes is in salad on toast or pasta. I don’t like to cook with these tomatoes. The crunch and sweetness elevates your taste bud, leaving a refreshing taste in your palate.
Ingredients you need for the Heirloom Tomato Toast
The simplest way to enjoy would be to toast bread, rub raw garlic on it just for flavor. Top it with slices of heirloom tomato and drizzle olive oil on top. Delicious! What I used here: Heirloom Tomatoes Boursin cheese - If you can’t find Bousin Cheese, you can use any variety of cheese you like or avoid cheese complete. You can also use thick Greek yogurt or hung curd instead. Tomato Garlic Confit - The oil from the confit is used, and it totally elevated the flavor. Can you make this toast without heirloom tomatoes?
Absolutely! Just make sure you pick juicy red tomatoes which are firm and can be sliced neatly.

What can be substituted for Tomato Garlic Confit
I would highly recommend you to make this Tomato Garlic Confit as it is so good on so many dishes. You can store it in the fridge for a month and in the freezer for several months. It is definitely a great way to preserve the flavors of summer tomatoes. As a substitute, just use any good quality extra virgin olive oil and rub raw garlic once your toast.
Make Crunchy Toast
There are three different ways you make prep the toast. All these steps will take just 5 minutes. I prefer air fryer as it toasts evenly with the gorgeous crunch and is ready in 5 minutes. You can use the stove top and toast it on a pan too with either butter or oil. If you have to use the oven, then just place the toast on the top rack and broil it on high for 5 minutes. Keep an eye as it get turn from golden brown to black in seconds! The Heirloom Tomato Toast is my current favorite summer toast. You get the texture, the crunchy bite and juicy sweetness from the tomatoes. You must try, if you haven’t already!
