Banana Nutella Cake
With a cup of tea, a slice of the Banana Nutella cake and a book that has been waiting for me to open the dog-eared page and continue reading. This lockdown situation has been a complete mix of mostly hectic and occasionally slow. We are having a lot of family time and it has completely taken away my ‘me time’. Thank god for my love for baking; a cake or a rustic bread is happening quite often to keep me sane. The ingredients for the Banana Nutella Cake is pretty much the same as any banana bread, except for Nutella and little bit of cocoa powder. Also, I bake the cake using oil instead of butter.
You can use only cocoa powder instead of Nutella.
TIP on how to get a flat cake top:
Cover the side of the cake pan using a store-bought baking cake strip or just use aluminum foil. Banana is one fruit we always have at home. Both my son and I love this fruit and I reach out to a banana to beat odd hour hunger pang. But there are several such weeks when a bunch would be left ignored until I could smell banana in my entire kitchen. My one bowl Banana Bread is my go-to option. Unless I want to relive my childhood days by fry some kolar boda for teatime snack. Here is a link to my usual One Bowl Banana Bread if you want to try. Kolar Boda is a Bengali style banana fritters. Give it a try!
